Patrick Purviance — Microsoft SQL Server Expert with a decade of broad IT experience in SQL Server Database Administration; Application Development, Systems and Network administration, and DBA team and project management.
In his current role, Patrick is Team Lead of Database Services for Koch Business Solutions, headquartered in Wichita, KS. There he, and a team of 7, support over 300 database servers with over 4500 databases.
In previous roles, Patrick served as an Enterprise Database Administration Consultant with Sogeti USA and as an independent consultant for SQL Server Database and SSIS architecture/mangement/implementation. Prior to that, Patrick served as a Senior Database Administrator for a medium-large scale electronic security service provider and specialized in DBA team management/mentoring, performance tuning, relational database design, and oversight of approximately 180 database servers, hosting approximately 1800 individual MSSQL and Oracle databases. Before that, he spent 5+ years with a Wichita, KS based software development house, where he specialized in MSSQL Server administration, application development, and systems and network administration.
Patrick enjoys sharing his technology experience with others and has purposed this blog to facilitate sharing that knowledge with anyone who can benefit from it. In 2011, Patrick founded and currently manages the Wichita SQL Server Users Group (an Official PASS Chapter) serving the Wichita, KS Metro Area.
